If you are seen by a doctor in NY - yes, even your regular family doctor - he/she can simply document that they 'feel' you are a danger to others and yourself and *poof*, there goes your 2nd Amendment rights...... permanently.

Thanks to my bud Pete Paton for the heads-up.

Regarding The 2nd Amendment, New York is what's classified as a "may issue" state and not just for concealed carry permits, but for almost any type of firearms ownership and more.

"May issue" means that all citizens, who's constitutional rights shall not be infringed, have his or her constitutional rights infringed at every possible turn, especially of the 1st and 4th varieties.

Each locale in the state, municipalities and counties, can have their own 'review' system to determine if said locale's government "may" wish to approve a resident for a firearms permit.  Questions are asked of the applicant and of many family members, business contacts and friends.  They are each interviewed about any and all aspects of the applicant's personality, past, present, etc.

If any one government official 'feels' like denying a permit to a resident, then it gets denied, period and never gets to the state level for another round of investigations before any permit is issued or denied there.

Case in point:  The town of Watervliet adds the following page to the Albany County and NY State firearms permit application packet:

Hand over your Facebook user name and password.

Robert Farago, proprietor of the website The Truth About Guns contacted Watervliet Police Chief Ron Boisvert.

Quote
......the sheet shouldn’t have been in the application packet – and won’t be in future.  “It’s for internal use only.”

Yeah . Okay . Right.

And chickens have lips.

Hey Dictator Chief Bisvert, here's all your subjects residents usernames:  ShallNotBeInfringed  and their passwords:  ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

This is what a Totalitarian / police state looks like.

And it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Much worse.

For internal use only means they already have the applicant's user name and password which is to be filled in on this form by the investigators.

Soot and everryone else reading this, don't go to a doctor in NY.   Any doctor.   Anywhere in the state.   Just don't.

Over 85,000 Secret Reports Made By Doctors To NYS Police Without Patients Notice

Webster, NY - Ammoland - 17 March 2017  ---  Civil rights attorney Paloma A. Capanna today released the statistics on the NYS Mental Hygiene Law §9.46 secret reporting from 2013-2016, showing more than 85,000 reports made from medical providers to the NYS Office of Mental Health and the NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services.

The statistics, obtained through the NYS Public Officers Law (“F.O.I.L.”), show secret reports have been made in every county of the state, every year, since the “S.A.F.E. Act” was launched in 2013.

“I will not rest until this secret reporting system is shut down and everyone reported into it is notified”, said Capanna.  “Democrats all over this state are going to be shocked at what Governor Cuomo has done to their rights to privacy and under HIPAA when they get notified that they, too, are in this secret, criminal database.  This has nothing to do with gun rights and everything to do with civil rights.”

Proof ?

No es problema, maing.

The typical Democrat sc*mb*gs in NY delayed, obfuscated and refused to abide by their own F.O.I.A. (Freedon Of Information Act) laws and after 4-1/2 months, they finally replied to Ms. Capana as follows:

Of the myriad of documents and information requested (the legal term is something to the effect of 'F.O.I.A. Demanded') and which legally must be presented to the requestor 'within a fair and reasonable time frame', only one -  o n e  -  was offered and it's a decent bet it probably was 'toyed with', you know, given a 'nudge'.

The rest of the info and documents demanded ?    The State Of New York officially and politely told Mr. Castellano and Ms. Capana (and through them, the entire citizenry of the state) to go f*ck themselves ; that citizens aren't citizens, but merely subjects ; obey, or else.

PS:   The two-paragraph commentary just above was offered to the editors at Ammoland to post after the article as a 'reader comment'.  Unknown if it will be approved and posted as-is, or edited, or ignored.

PPS:   The media isn't touching this.   For now, you'll only find this info on firearms-related sites.

Kenny I have no choice. My living is my CDL.
Never been asked about fire arms ownership.  If I were I would answer with a question  about how larger a kiddie porn collection the Dr. has.
Remember I already hate and distrust any and all Dr,s. with good cause.

New York ‘May Issue’ Arrogance Forces Gang Target To File Lawsuit

David Cordrea for AmmoLand.com - 3 April 2017  ---  A New York man who was targeted for death by the leader of an outlaw motorcycle club has filed suit against Suffolk County, its police commissioner and three officers for denying his application to carry a concealed firearm, Courthouse News Service reports.

Sean McCarthy had been beaten and stabbed “at least seven times” by Pagans gang members “in the late 1990s,” when, as a nightclub manager, he’d refused to be extorted.  The group’s leader admitted in court during his guilty plea that he’d ordered McCarthy’s murder.

Noting many of the members have served their time and have been released from prison, McCarthy applied for a concealed carry permit, which is “may issue” in New York.  In this case, officials chose “may not” and they did so in the most arrogant manner imaginable: By not checking with law enforcement officials who could corroborate the death threats; by not checking relevant records; in the case of the Police Commissioner Timothy Sini by not even reading the application; and by arbitrarily ruling McCarthy “had failed to establish ‘proper cause’”!

Hit the link and read it all.  Mindblowing is an understatement.

".....shall not be infringed" ; it's what's for dinner ; the other white meat.

In one of the blue states, sooner than later, nudge is gonna come to shove and quickly move to shoot.  Quite honestly, it needs to happen.  That whole 'tree of liberty' thing.

Kenny it is so screwed here that I have heard of retired LEO's getting denied retired LEO status. Then they get a sportsman like mine is designated.
Yet being a biker and having dealings at times with the 1%er's,  let's say I wonder about the club owner and what was going down there. If the Pagans are involved and he screwed them over he is a dead man walking for sure. Leo and riders around here are not happy about the early releases.
Stems from trouble with H A and Pagans swear revenge. Full carry is almost never given, unless you already survived a deadly attack and receive threats too. Pagans are affiliated with the Outlaws down your way and even bigger dirtbags.

So Cuomo got his budget rammed through like his UN-SAFE act.
Col. we got to get papers drawn up stating Parker is Lori and my son. Part of the budget. Tax payers foot bill for SUNY students of parents making less than $125,000 a year. Might as well get something for the increase about to hit us in state taxes.  :bk

So there is an addendum in the fine print. If you take the money you are bound to the state for the # of years you took that "free"$! So I guess this means those that actually graduate. You cannot leave N.Y.S. or take a job outside of NYS until that time period. So no moving to N.J. if you get a job in Manhattan. Offered a job in western Mass. sorry you must live and work in N.Y till your sentence for the "Free" $ is paid to society. Nothing I can find about dropouts or F ups that do not finish. You know like the gang banger that could get in just to sell drugs and push girls to be ho's.

In my best Mr. Garrisson voice:   'Hunting is bad, mmmmmkay..... Guns are bad, mmmmmkay..... Hunting with guns should be banned, mmmmmkay.'

Will the typical everyday run-of-the-mill rights-grabbing Democrats in charge of NY State go full retard and ban it all ?

Will the other 'blue' states move to 'nudge' in the same thing ?

Califailure already has a lead ammo ban in place, effective 1 January 2019.

Quote

Lead ammo left behind by hunters is a threat to bald eagles.

Albany, NY - The Associated Press - 16 July 2017  ---  Bald eagles have made a remarkable recovery across the United States since the pesticide DDT was banned 45 years ago, but the majestic birds are still dying from another environmental poison: Lead from bullets and shotgun pellets in wildlife carcasses left behind by hunters.

.....state wildlife researchers have documented a growing number of eagle deaths from lead poisoning in recent years.

The problem is that eagles and other scavengers eat the guts of deer or the carcasses of coyotes, woodchucks and other game shot by hunters. Bits of lead bullets consumed along with the meat break down quickly in an eagle's stomach and enter its bloodstream.

Elevated lead levels cause blindness, paralysis, lack of appetite and neurological problems that make eagles more likely to fly into buildings or vehicles if they don't succumb to lead poisoning first.

In New York, lead poisoning was confirmed as the cause of death in 38 of 336 bald eagles brought to a Department of Environmental Conservation lab near Albany between 2000 and 2015.  Nine bald eagles were confirmed as lead-poisoning deaths in 2016, and seven so far this year.

The Humane Society of the United States has long sought restrictions on lead ammunition, beyond the 1991 federal ban on lead shot for waterfowl hunting.

Um, no.  The HSUS is working towards only one thing - an outright ban on all hunting for any reason with any implements and as an adjunct, the elimination of The Second Amendment.

Quote

On former President Barack Obama's last day in office, Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe signed an order calling for phase-out of lead ammunition on federal lands by 2022.  But President Donald Trump's new Secretary of the Interior, Ryan Zinke, reversed Ashe's order on his first day in office.

Damn straight Sec. Zinke did.   Actually, the order was signed and in place within the first hour of his swearing in.

You want to ban something killing the birds ?

Ban 'green' energy.

Yes, really.

Ban those 'green' wind turbine monstrosities.

I can't find the link - sigh - aaa-gain...

A few years ago I was ready that more bold eagles are road kill than die from any other kind of 'unnatural' death.  I assume that means more bald eagles are run over than die from lead poisoning.  They why not ban driving?
