Lt. Robert L. Mains was laid to rest with full military honors. PGR was well represented. over 50 of  us. 18 bikes in the escort. I rode to the Cemetery. It was a great experience to be a part of. And when a U,S, Army Major General from the Pentagon enlists your services and thanks you repeatedly ,it is a wow kind of day.
A couple of old vets came, But talked rather loudly during the ceremony. I hinted a couple times to hush. Then asked then to be silent or go up by the road to talk. I guess they "could" be heard down by the family. As right after that was when the Gen. came and thanked me and me only for standing the line. His body language and eye movements projected his meaning. It was about those loud old vets. Later he presented the family with all the Lt's. earned service medals and, a flag flown over the Pentagon. Then he came back directly to me. Asked to lay the beautiful cherry presentation case for flag and decorations at my feet for safe keeping. I said I would rather hold it than have that case touch the ground. Hell it represented all this Lt, mains sacrificed for our freedom. Even cold as hell right now, days like this make it all that much better to be a PGR member.
