Hmmmm, how would one deal with protesters in a "non violent" way, especially if they're the warped individuals who blame homosexuality for war casualities?  Though the though of linking arms, and just bulldozing them away has it's appeal.

Today I manned an information booth for the PGR at a local tavern. There was a bike build off contest to get on Biker Build off on TV. A swarm of 1%er's showed up. Normally not a problem. I even know a couple of them. Well a group of 8 riders from a club not affiliated with them showed up. It was a tense scene at best. There was no violence. But N.Y. law does not allow me to carry on L.I. except to hunt or go to the range and a bar is off limits even if not in the building. I sure would have felt better with dads 9mm or .357 in piggies bags.

So on the way home I see 15 bikes on a 2 lane asphalt behind me closing fast. i move right and signal to pass as they approach. Up ahead the light before the interstate turns red. I not wanting to hold up a group hold right even though at the next light as the road goes to 4 lane I need to turn left. A rider pulls up on the shoulder next to me says " It's cool thanks we are I495 west bound" I said ,"Just wanted to not hold up your group go and pass. He says" Hey, You ain't nervous, we meant what we said back at the Tavern. What you guys do riding for the troops is cool." A swarm of 1%er's raised their hands in salute as we went our seperate ways.

Look for this in the news today. You will not find it. Amputee's from the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Left NYC at 10 A.M. this morning. They requested a PGR escort for this trip. Why so special?
U.S. Army, U.S. Marine and, Royal Marine troops that lost limbs in combat Are running on prosthetics from the Intrepid to D.C. Pretty tough guys and gals no?
Then on to Los Angles ,Ca. Look hard you won't see anything I bet. Talk about courage! We owe these Patriots big time.

I get home today from kenny's old stomping grouds. Wantagh, NY stood for a Marine vet who served in the late 50's. I turn on ESPN to hear DENNY HAMLIN takes the checkered Flag at Martinsville! Go Denny 4th straight Martinsville Va. win for the Va. native son.

Wantaugh....... What great memories...... Oh wait...... That wasn't me..... At least that's what my attorney keeps telling me to say.   :p

As for the race....... Mark "The Old Man" Martin really stepped up.... Came from way back to a 2nd place finish....... Jamie was 11th with a pretty dinged up car (everybody's was - M'ville takes no prisoners)........ and yeah.... Git-r-done Denny !!!

Damn near got taken out today too! By a dump duck {seagull}! Saw him on the shoulder eating some crap. So used far side of my lane and slowed down. Damn thing took off straight at me. I ducked below the windshield waiting for the impact. Bet his toes missed my helmet by less than an inch.  But we cannot shoot them as they are scavengers and good for the eco-system.
