CalPERS - The California Public Employees' Retirement System

Press release summary, courtesy of The Sacramento Bee ; 13 September 2017:

In Trinity, five current and former employees will see their promised pensions slashed by 70 percent.  Niland’s five beneficiaries will see a 92 percent to 100 percent cut in pension benefits.

I totally understand how some people can walk into a government building and open fire, but then again, the people of Califailure keep voting "D".  They've earned this.

Them fires in Califailure..... the ones what killed a bunch of people, destroyed towns, wineries, groves, etc., with at least $3 billion in physical damage so far.

Those fires.

At least one - the biggest one - was started by..... drum roll please..... an illegal alien wanted by I.C.E.

Yeah.

"Gonzalez was wearing a trench coat and told officers he started the fire because he was cold."

It was 78 degrees (25.5 C) at the time.

He was cold.

Gotta be Trump's fault.

Like the first commenter said, almost retribution fir their sanctuary cities and love for the illegals. Let Jerry Brown bill him for the damage.

Ten of the largest local governments in the capital region can expect to pay a total of $216 million to CalPERS in fiscal 2018-19, an increase of $27 million over this year, according to the Sacramento Bee.  And nearly half of that increase will be borne by one local government – the city of Sacramento.

“It’s not sustainable.  These costs are going to make things incredibly challenging.”

In a report this month, Joe Nation, a researcher at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, wrote that “employer pension contributions are projected to roughly double between 2017 and 2030....."

The moment the Democrats have to start spending their own money will be the moment the SHTF in Califailure.

Every time CalPERS comes up for discussion the single larges union in the State, California Department of Corrections, starts threatening to early release violent predatory prisoners.  Will they do it?  They have done it before and will again.  Any time they expect to not get their way they do a prison dump until they get their way.

Califailure Democrat Introducing Legislation To Ban All Fossil-Fueled Vehicles By 2040

Bloomberg Business News - 5 December 2017  ---  California Assemblymember Phil Ting, a Democrat who is chairman of the chamber’s budget committee, said he plans to introduce a bill that, starting in 2040, would allow the state’s motor vehicles department to register only “clean” vehicles that emit no carbon dioxide, such as battery-electric or hydrogen fuel-cell cars.

This has nothing - n o t h i n g - to do with "green" anything.

This is about control.

Betcha the Califailure scum mandate only active (no-battery-storage) solar-powered cars can be on the road at night.

Gee, I'm wondering why this wasn't all over the media - that 200,000 people had to move immediately - you know..... 'GTFO' right now - today - or we the gubmint will simply move you wherever we want.

Northern California residents blast state over dam repairs.

Oroville, California - The Associated Press - 7 December 2017  ---  In February, nearly 200,000 people had to evacuate because of catastrophic damage to the spillways at Oroville Dam.

Wednesday's community meeting was the first since federal officials made public their concerns about a series of hairline cracks in freshly laid concrete on the new spillway.  State officials said cracking is normal and federal regulators agreed that no immediate repairs are necessary.....

"We heard that in 2009 when we saw DWR fixing cracks on the spillway, that it was completely normal, that it was no concern", said Genoa Widener of Oroville.  "And then we were told to run for our lives.  So you telling us that it's normal is not enough."

The trouble at Oroville Dam began in early February, when a massive crater opened up in the main spillway, a concrete chute that releases water from Lake Oroville, California's second-largest reservoir.  Crews shut down the spillway for inspection just as a major storm dumped a torrent of rain in the Feather River basin.  With the main spillway damaged and unused, the lake quickly filled to capacity and water began flowing over a concrete weir that serves as an emergency spillway.

State officials say the hundreds of small cracks in new concrete are different from the cracks that experts believe may have allowed water to seep beneath the original concrete spillway, contributing to erosion that caused the spillway to buckle.

Somehow, this is going to be made President Trump's fault because global warming forced typical Democrats to commit sexual assault in order attempt invalidating 2A and move to grant amnesty to every illegal alien.

The system has been corrupted for so long nobody in it today remembers or knows how to mix an honest batch of concrete when it counts the most.

CA doesn't let out inmates like in the movie, 'Blues Brothers', with the ex con walking out through the gate to a waiting car.  Nowadays it is done through an extensive shell game so that nobody will know where the ex con will 'go public'.  They are usually set up in a hotel a long ways away from the prison and given a significant wad of cash, 'walking money', so they can get by for a couple of weeks without having to resort to robbery or burglary their first day out.  This is at a minimum - if the con wants to they can used 'transition' services to ease them back into society.  Its all kept very quiet so as to not alarm the general public as to how many criminals are released every day in CA.

California Gov. Jerry Brown says deadly and destructive wildfires in winter are "the new normal".

Fallbrook, California - The Associated Press - 9 December 2017  ---  Brown on Saturday toured Ventura County neighborhoods ravaged by a weeklong wildfire that killed at least one person and destroyed hundreds of homes and other buildings.

At a news conference, Brown said drought and climate change mean California faces a "new reality" where lives and property are continually threatened by fire, at a cost of billions of dollars.

He added that gusty winds and low humidity are continuing and warned that there's a good chance of seeing "firefighting at Christmas."  He said it will take "heroic" efforts in the U.S. and abroad to stem climate change and urged U.S. lawmakers to pay more attention to dealing with natural disasters such as fires, floods and earthquakes.

Hey Gov. Brown..... Hey typical Democrats..... The sole reason you have a "new reality", is that you and your typical Democrat legislature have banned the use of water and proper tried-and-true chemicals to fight 'wildfires', that some people think aren't wild, but deliberately set to exert additional control over a damn-near-total sheep population, or set by illegal aliens/gangs and even the peace-loving peace lovers.

Coupla-three of those big air tankers alternating water and chem drops with some trained fire supression personnel strategically placed at perimeters can do the trick in a short time.  Then, send in some investigators and find out origination points.  Betcha only a small percentage of it all was naturally caused.

Hey Gov. Brown..... Hey typical Democrats..... The solution is right in front of you.  Why not give it a go.  You'll be heroes.

But no.  Can't have that.  Tain't a-gonna happen.  The Delta Smelt is more important.  Taking rights from citizens via a 'supermajority' of typical Democrats is even more important.

Sad.

Damn dangerous.
