I wonder if any white NFL players will be arrested during the White Beach weekend event?

Of course not.

Why would you comment further.

Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Michael Oher  - assaulting an Uber driver in Nashville, Tennessee.

Oher, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, is best known as the subject of the 2009 Hollywood movie "The Blind Side'.'

According to the incident report acquired by ESPN.com, the Uber driver told Nashville Metro police that he picked up Oher and four other friends to go to a restaurant. The driver told police that Oher suggested the driver did not know where he was going and an argument broke out.

The argument continued at the destination of the ride as Oher and the driver got out of the car. The report said "the victim then put his hands towards the suspect's face and the suspect pushed him down onto the ground.''

The report said the driver also claimed "that the suspect then kicked him in the leg while he was on the ground".

By the way, the 'incident' happened on 14 April.

Yeah.

Y'all gettin' the feelin' there's a nudge or two comin' from the NFL for media to not report 'incidents' ?

According to the arrest report, Anderson "was fighting with security after being told to leave. [He] refused to leave and was told by [an officer] to sit on the ground.  [Anderson] tensed his body and pushed [the officer].  Anderson was redirected to the ground and continued to fight with police and security."

The Jets acknowledged a legal situation surrounding the 2016 rookie.  "We are aware of the situation," the Jets said in a statement. "This is a pending legal matter and we will have no further comment at this time."

"Anderson was redirected to the ground....."

Heh.    :p

PS..... As of posting time, here in Sowf Flori-Duh, there hasn't been a word of this anywhere in our local media.  Not a peep.

PPS..... The music festival is called "Rolling Loud".   It's all about the Hip (BLM) Hop, yo.

Ladies and gentlemen, here's number seventeen on your hit parade of active NFL players arrested in 2017.

Quote

Dallas Cowboys Cornerback Nolan Carroll Arrested On DWI Charge.

Dallas, Texas - ESPN News - 29 May 2017  ---  Dallas Cowboys cornerback Nolan Carroll was arrested for driving while intoxicated early Monday morning in the Uptown section of Dallas.

A Dallas police officer pulled Carroll over after an unspecified traffic violation in the 200 block of McKinney Avenue.  Carroll posted bonded Monday afternoon after he was booked into Dallas County Jail.

According to a team spokesman, the Cowboys are aware of the situation and gathering information at this time.

Yeah, but can he play ?  Is he a 'baller' ?  Does Jerry ('I'm God') Jones get the felony DUI swept under a rug ?

Quote

The Cowboys just signed Carroll to a three-year, $10 million deal in free agency that included $4 million guaranteed.  He played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2014-16, starting all 16 games for the first time in his career last season.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett on Mr. Carroll:  "He plays a very challenging position in the NFL.  He's been playing it for a long time and he's played it at a high level.  He's a physical player.  He's a good cover guy.  He's a smart football player.  We've seen all that already this offseason."

He can play.  He's a 'baller'.  He didndunuffin.

The State of Ohio calls it O.V.I. - Operating A Vehicle While Impaired.

Quote

Giants WR Roger Lewis arrested, charged with O.V.I. in Ohio.

ESPN News - 5 June 2017  ---  New York Giants wide receiver Roger Lewis was arrested early Sunday morning (4 June) and charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, police confirmed.

The Giants "are aware" of the incident but have no further comment at this time.  Lewis, 23, made the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2016 after two seasons at Bowling Green.

He was charged with two counts of rape as a high school football star in Ohio.  A jury acquitted him on one count but deadlocked on the other.  He eventually pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for falsification.  He was sentenced to three years' probation, which ended last September.

Lewis was one of the four players on the Giants' infamous Miami boat trip before their playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Saw a comment on a different media outlet article about the arrest:

He didn't yell at, or try to beat up the police ?  I'm impressed.

Nineteen & Twenty

Quote

NY Jets linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin has been arrested for assault for attacking a man in a NYC nightclub.

The arrest comes after Jean Lopez, of Queens, NY., filed a civil lawsuit against Mauldin, alleging that the linebacker beat him outside of a nightclub over spilled champagne.

NY Jets:  Who ?

Reply:  Your top draft pick from two years ago.

NY Jets:  Oh.   The Jets are aware of the matter involving whoever he is.  We will refrain from making any further comment, as it is an ongoing legal matter."

Reply:   Riiiiiiiiiiight.

Quote

Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Letroy Guion was charged with driving under the influence after an arrest early Wednesday morning in Hawaii.

According to Honolulu police, Guion, who turned 30 on Wednesday, had a blood alcohol level of .086 when tested during a routine traffic stop.  He was released on $500 bail.

"The Packers are aware of the matter involving Letroy Guion.  We will refrain from making any further comment, as it is an ongoing legal matter."

The same way y'all refrained "from making any further comment" on 3 February 2015 when Mr. Guion was arrested for open-carry of a firearm and possession of 1-3/4 lbs of marijuana (he was also in possession of over $190,000 in cash at the time of his arrest) in Florida.

Green Bay Packers:   Um........

The same way y'all refrained "from making any further comment" in March of this year when it was announced that Mr. Guion is suspended for the first four games of the 2017-2018 season for violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs rules.

Green Bay Packers:   Er........

Just win, baby !

Twenty-One

Missed one.

He was arrested in March and espn buried the article.... when they published it on June 2nd.

Quote

Denver Broncos safety Will Parks was arrested March 31 on charges of harassment and family-offense domestic violence after an incident involving a former girlfriend.

At the time, he was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear June 30 in an Adams County (Colorado) court.

The Broncos released a statement:  “We became aware of the issue involving Will Parks immediately after it occurred in March.  It was promptly reported to the league office and we are continuing to monitor this matter.”

I found the article looking for something not even sports related.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Damien Wilson was arrested Tuesday night (4 July) and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Frisco, Texas - ESPN News - 5 July 2017  ---  Wilson was arrested at Toyota Stadium during Frisco's Freedom Fest.  He was released from the Frisco Detention Center on a $10,000 bond for each count.

Booking photo courtesy of Frisco PD.

The case is still under investigation and the police did not release further information.  A Cowboys spokesman said the team is aware of the situation and gathering information but would not comment at this time.

As of this posting, tain't nobody - media, L.E., or others - sayin' "boo" on what happened, what kind of evil scary-looking weapon, or anything else.  Only that he got popped on two counts.

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Adolphus Washington, 24, was arrested in Sharonville over the weekend, according to a Sharonville police report.

Sharonville, Ohio - Fox19, Cincinnati - 9 July 2017  ---  Washington is accused of improperly carrying a concealed weapon outside the Splash Water Park on Chester Road.

The arrest happened as officers were clearing out a crowd in the water park parking lot around 10 p.m. Sunday.

The "
suspect reached for and displayed a gun while sitting inside his vehicle just feet away from officers.  The suspect did not inform officers beforehand."

Quote

Pittsburgh Steelers star Artie Burns was arrested for driving on a suspended license.

Miami Beach, Florida - The London Daily Mail - 30 June 2017  ---  He was arrested without incident by Miami Beach Police on Thursday (29 June) and his vehicle was impounded.

His vehicle was pulled over for an expired registration.

The Steelers have declined to comment on Burns's arrest.

Why was his license suspended you ask ?

Multiple traffic citations, the base value totalling over $1,000 - base value ; not including late payment penatlies, etc.  As soon as the base value hits $1,000, an automatic bench warrant is issued.

Plus.

He's got one other citation..... a moving violation..... for over double the speed limit.

How's 130 in a 60 sound to ya ?

That right there gets you cuffed, booked and at least a 30 day automatic license suspension.

Gee, except for one of the four sports talk radio stations here, this didn't make our local news at all.  I wonder if the NFL is trying to nudg.......... Naaaaaaaaaaah.

And yes, we really do have four sports talk radio stations locally:   WQAM (the former CBS network), WMEN (Fox Sports), WAXY (espn) and WINZ (local and Fox Sports naitonal).

Twenty-Five

Pronounced 'Dee-Yonn-Tay'.

Quote

Houston Texans running back D'Onta Foreman was arrested at The University of Texas, early Sunday morning and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and marijuana possession.

Austin, Texas - ESPN News - 16 July 2017  ---  According to the University of Texas police department, officers initially responded to a report of marijuana smell coming from three cars parked outside a residence hall at 12:24 a.m. Sunday.

Foreman, whom police described as the owner of the firearm, was taken into custody and later released on bond.  Six other men were cited for possession of marijuana and released.

Foreman's attorney, Chip B. Lewis, said in a statement that the running back was in Austin to visit friends, possessed the handgun legally and that he did not use the marijuana, which was not his, but belonged to a passenger in the vehicle.

"As he was leaving their residence, he was approached by police.  Prior to a search of his vehicle, D'Onta alerted the officer that he had a handgun inside of his vehicle.  This legal handgun was recently purchased by D'Onta and registered in his name.  The handgun was properly secured inside of his vehicle as required by Texas law.  A passenger in D'Onta's vehicle was in possession of marijuana.  D'Onta did not use or possess the marijuana.  Upon making his bond, he will submit to a urinalysis to confirm he has not used marijuana.

"D'Onta appreciates the professionalism of the officers involved in his arrest and in his booking at the Travis County Jail.  We are confident this matter will be resolved justly once the State of Texas applies the applicable law to the facts."

If it matters, the putz was awarded "best running back in the nation" last year at The University of Texas.

And just because:    Yo Chip, Mr. Lewis, Mr. Attorney..... Unless somethin' changed up real recent-like, pretty dang sure y'ain't gotta "register" an evil scary-lookin' hand cannon in Texas unless it's one of those Glockenspiel full-on-pew-pew-pew things, or a MAC, etc.  And that ain't Texas registering anyway, it's Los Federales.

Of course, news that an active-roster NFL player has been arrested wouldn't be complete without:

Quote

The Houston Texans issued a statement that said the organization is aware of the situation and gathering additional information.

Jacksonville Jaguars Dante Fowler Jr. arrested.

St. Petersburg, Florida - ESPN News - 19 July 2017  ---  Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. was arrested in St. Petersburg on charges of simple battery and mischief.

Fowler, 22, was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday evening (18 July) by St. Petersburg police for the misdemeanor charges and released at 1:43 a.m. Wednesday (19 July) on bonds totaling $650.

Fowler got out of his car to confront a man after he made a comment about Fowler's driving.  After a brief argument, Fowler then struck the man, stomped on his prescription glasses and then took the man's grocery bag, which included liquor, and tossed it in a lake.

"The Jaguars are aware of the situation involving defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. and are currently gathering more information.  The team has been in communication with Dante.  No further comment will be made at this time."

It is unknown at this time if Mr. Fowler has retained the top defense attorney representing NFL players, a Mr. Hee Didnduu Nuffin.
