NFL Player Arrests, 2017
« on: January 03, 2017, 08:26:09 AM »

Happy New Year !

Adam 'Pacman' Jones of the Cincinnati Bengals, c'mon down !   You're the first contestant in 2017 on TV's hottest game show, "Choo Estupido Deek !"

Quote
Bengals cornerback Adam 'Pacman' Jones charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors.

Cincinnati, Ohio - WCPO-TV, News9 - 3 January 2017  ---  Adam “Pacman” Jones was booked into the Hamilton County Jail around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on several charges including assaulting a police officer, assault, disorderly conduct and obstructing official business.

Photo courtesy of WCPO and the Hamilton County (Ohio) Justice Center.

The 33-year-old Bengals cornerback stands charged with assault for “pushing and poking (a man) in the eye,” according to court documents.  The documents also say Jones refused to enter the police cruiser by pulling away, kicking and head-butting an officer as he was being arrested.

While Jones was being processed into the Hamilton County Justice Center, documents say he spat on a nurse’s hand, resulting in the final count of harassment with a bodily substance.  He is expected in court at 9 a.m. today.

This arrest comes after a few years without legal trouble; at one point, Jones had one of the longest rap sheets in the league.  The Atlanta native has racked up other assault and disorderly conduct charges dating back to his college days in West Virginia.  Most of his arrests stemmed from nightclub altercations.  In Aug. 2006, Jones was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct when he spit on a woman's face in a Tennessee nightclub (similar to Tuesday's arrest in Cincinnati).  Police said Jones also spit on a woman's face in Oct. 2016 in a Nashville nightclub.

Jones' most noteworthy incident resulted in a $11 million payout and a year's suspension from the NFL.  In 2007, Jones was "making it rain" in a Las Vegas strip club with rapper Nelly, but later became angry with the dancers, police said.  He was kicked out of the club.  Later in the evening, a gunman returned and opened fire in the club.  He was recognized as a member of Jones' 'crew'.

Maybe he shoulda took up knittin' or somethin', 'cuz his 'hobby' of being a p.o.s. ain't workin' out too well.

"Choo Estupido Deek !", Season 2017, Episode 1 - Adam 'Pacman' Jones, Cincinnati Bengals

'Nice' way to kick off the 2017 NFL arrest year.

Jones had to spend the night in jail while waiting for a blood test, which could not be taken until Wednesday morning.  He will appear before a grand jury on Jan. 13.

"I'll let everything play out in court", Jones told reporters after being released Wednesday.  "Obviously, without getting into it, none of this makes sense."

There's no truth to the rumor that the NFL and the league teams have afforded Mr. Jones at least a dozen second-chances.  The number is more like four or five.

Ain't a player no more, but still worth a post.....

Quote
Steelers outside linebackers coach Joey Porter was arrested Sunday night outside a Pittsburgh bar, hours after the team's 30-12 AFC wild-card win over the Miami Dolphins.

Police said security guards at The Flats on Carson summoned a police officer who was working at a nearby restaurant "due to an unruly customer who was in the process of assaulting the doorman.''  Police said the officer stopped the assault and arrested the customer, who was later identified as the 39-year-old Porter, a former star player.

Porter was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.  He is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.  It is unclear if he has an attorney who can comment on the charges.

The Steelers acknowledged an "incident involving Joey Porter" in a brief statement Sunday.  "We are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation, and we will have no further comment until we get more details," team spokesman Burt Lauten said.

Porter, who played eight of his 13 NFL seasons in Pittsburgh, is in his second season as the Steelers' outside linebackers coach.  Porter has had multiple run-ins with the law in the past, including a 2010 arrest for suspicion of drunken driving and an accusation of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

Update.....

Quote
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - ESPN News - 9 January 2017  ---  "We are continuing to gather information concerning Sunday night's incident involving Joey Porter," Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said in a statement Monday.

"We have been and will continue to be in communication with the NFL as is required by the Personal Conduct Policy.
Pending further review, Joey Porter has been placed on leave.  At this time, we will move forward with our preparations for the Divisional Round playoff game at Kansas City.

Mr. Porter's "leave" will more than likely end about 36-48 hours before kickoff of the game this coming weekend, when he's needed to head to Kansas City and coddle coach the felons players in his domain.

That explains a lot about the conduct of the Steelers Defensive players during the game. Including multiple hits to the head or after the whistle blew.

Numbah Too.....

Quote
West Palm Beach, Florida - ESPN News - 11 January 2017  ---  Tre Mason, Rams running back, was arrested Tuesday morning in Florida for a fleeing incident dating back to July 2016, according to records obtained from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Photo courtesy of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Mason spent less than an hour in county jail before being released on $5,000 bond.  He faces a felony charge of fleeing and eluding without regard for others' safety or property.  A Rams spokesman and Mason's agent, Bus Cook, did not respond to initial requests for comment.

Mason was at a park on the afternoon of July 27 2016 allegedly doing wheelies on an ATV.  When police tried to stop him, Mason sped past them and fled to his mother's home in Lake Worth, Florida.  Law-enforcement officials followed Mason to the home and cited him for operating an ATV on public roads and failing to stop for police.  A dash-cam video posted by TMZ recorded Mason's mom, Tina, telling responding officers that her son is "22 in a 10-year-old's mindset right now."

Mason was also arrested on March 5 2016 during a traffic stop in Hollywood, Florida, and faced five charges, for resisting an officer/obstruction without violence, reckless driving, failure to register a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana in an amount less than 20 grams and failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle.

Those charges were resolved in Broward County Court on Nov. 3.  Law-enforcement officers were called to Mason's mother's home at least five times between the traffic stop in March and the ATV incident in July.

Pretty sure we've lost count.  How many second chances is this ?

Will the video be made public?  I mean, all you have to do is fart in the direction of a cop and you will be arrested booked and charged for "Assault", (let the prosecutor take it from there).

Ladies and gentlemen, the third active NFL player arrested in 2017.

.....a literal reading of the order meant absolutely no contact.....

What part of shall not be infringed no contact did you not understand ?

Quote
Nashville, Tennessee - WRKN (ABC) News2 - 17 February 2017  ---  Los Angeles Chargers offensive lineman King David Dunlap V was arrested and charged with violating an order of protection and has since bonded out of prison.

According to Dunlap’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, he was leaving Nashville for San Diego to train when his girlfriend reportedly asked if he wanted to get some clothes before he left.  Neighbors saw Dunlap’s car in the driveway and thought there was “an issue”.

Robinson offered a statement to WRKN News2 regarding Dunlap’s arrest:

"This event was a misunderstanding between the parties as to what was allowed under the order.  They had been discussing a joint resolution.  This was not an egregious event, but two parties trying to come to a mutual understanding.  Unfortunately a literal reading of the order meant absolutely no contact and we trust the facts will resolve all issues in a favorable way for Mr. Dunlap."

Repeating:

.....a literal reading of the order meant absolutely no contact.....

What part of shall not be infringed no contact did you not understand ?

As for the possibility of effing busy-body neighbors not minding their own effing bidness, maybe his girlfriend/babymomma/side-ho asked them to keep an eye open.  Maybe that'll come out, maybe it won't.

And warming up in the bullpen, Mr. Darelle Revis, currently signed to the Noo Yawk J-E-T-S Suck Suck Suck ! - and arguably one of the best defensive backs to ever play the game.  Mr. Revis has a warrant out for his arrest in Pittsburgh:  Foh fell-oh-knees 'n wun mister-meaner.

The afforementioned Mr. Revis:

(Click on the link for the full article and narrative of the incident.)

Quote

.....two felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony count each of robbery and conspiracy and a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - ESPN News - 18 February 2017  ---  The incident in question occurred at 2:43 a.m. ET Sunday (12 February) on Pittsburgh's popular South Side.  Two men, ages 21 and 22, told police that Revis punched them amid a verbal altercation.  Witnesses said the two men were unconscious for 10 minutes.

As part of Friday's arraignment, the four-time All-Pro was ordered to appear at all hearings and instructed not to have any contact with the alleged victims and witnesses -- not even on social media.  He has 72 hours to submit his passport.

Bobby Del Greco will be Revis' lawyer going forward.  Del Greco represented Steelers assistant coach Joey Porter last month after Porter allegedly was involved in an altercation outside a Pittsburgh bar.

Scroll up for that lil' slice 'o heaven on Joey Porter, or click here.  All charges against Mr. Porter were dropped two days after his arrest for NFL playoff legal technicality issues.

As for his booking, arraignment - a.k.a., his obviously scheduled appearance - on multiple felony counts, one is quite correct to surmise Mr. Revis has been afforded 'special dispensation', as any other wanted multiple violent felon would have had an entire L.E. department (plus surrounding area agencies) alerted with a b.o.l.o. and apprehend on site order.

The most prevalent current news item throughout the media regarding Mr. Revis is exactly what you're thinking:  How will this affect the rest of his career..... and nothing more.

All because he can play a game.

Number five is alive !

Matt Elam, Safety, Baltimore Ravens.
The fifth NFL player to be arrested in 2017.

Quote
Matt Elam, Baltimore Ravens safety was arrested in Miami Beach on felony drug charges Saturday night.

Miami Beach, Florida - The Miami Herald - 26 February 2017  ---  Elam, 25, was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center Sunday on possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana; possession of marijuana with intent to sell/distribute; possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving, according to Miami-Dade Corrections records.  The first three charges are felonies.

Also arrested with Elam around 7:15 p.m. Saturday were Calvin Stewart, 28, for possession of a concealed weapon and resisting an officer, along with Fritz Narcisse, 22, and his brother Abdud Narcisse, 23.

Mr. Stewart                              Mr. F. Narcisse                              Mr. A. Narcisse
Photos courtesy of Miami-Dade Corrections.

.....officers in an unmarked police car rolling north on Pine Tree Drive near 23rd Street noticed a blue 2014 Range Rover approaching from behind speeding and darting in and out of traffic.  After passing the police car on the left, the Range Rover allegedly cut off the unmarked car with an unsignaled lane change, forcing the officer driving to stand on the brakes.  The Range Rover continued cutting in and out of traffic at high speed, even after police hit the lights and sirens.

When the Range Rover finally stopped, the approaching officer said he noticed a “big cloud of smoke emitting from inside the vehicle” along with the smell of burning marijuana.....

And the rest, as they say..... The 'gentlemen' with Mr. Elam have a rather extensive contact history with the local law enforcement contingent.

So what was a fine upstanding young professional man like Mr. Elam doing with those three thoroughly typical community orga......... I'll stop now because anything else I might offer would - not could - would be taken as raaaaaaaaaacimississt, yo.

Per the Ravens press office, the team does not have plans to include Mr. Elam in their 2017-2018 season roster and offered no other comment.

With six you get egg roll multiple charges:

Auto theft, robbery, resisting arrest, driving under the influence and criminal damage.

Ladies and germs, the 6th active NFL player arrested in 2017, Mr. David Parry, Indianapolis Colts.

Quote
He allegedly hit the driver of a golf cart that transported him and two other men from a Scottsdale bar in the head and sped off in the cart.  The police found Parry on the sidewalk near where he crashed the cart into the gate of an apartment complex.

Parry, whose eyes were watery and bloodshot and whose speech was slurred, laughed and thought being arrested for robbery and auto theft was comical, according to the police report.  Parry antagonized the officers, using gay slurs and calling them "fat f---s," according to officers.

Parry had a brace on his left wrist from surgery earlier in the offseason that made it difficult for the officers to handcuff him.  The police had to remove the brace from Parry's wrist to put the handcuffs on because he kept "locking his muscles and turning his body in attempts to break free".  Parry was not given a breath test because of his lack of stability and because he was dry heaving, as if he was going to vomit, when the officers were drawing blood from his arm.
Asked how much he had to drink, Parry told the officers "a lot".

Buh-bye Mr. Parry.

Then again, Oakland, Than Thranthithco, or Dallas will more than likely pick him up.

I've been waiting all day for the Kenny report on Mr Perry.    I don't know how many news reports of this I had to hear before I got the whole thing.  "He did what?" was my common response.
